I promised myself that I would log each visit to my plot for my own records.
With Simon soon heading off on his holiday, I doubted I'd be able to get any more work out of him...damn these employees wanting to take holidays. I was wrong. I managed to convince him to come and watch as there was no construction work required. Amazingly he agreed (he obviously wanted to spend as much time as possible with me before disappearing for 16 days) So with shear grit and determination we set about clearing the west side of the plot. After all I had my newly acquired plastic sheeting and 100 giant staples that I was desperate to play with.
We filled a tonne rubble sack with weeds and a couple of smaller bags and took them to the recyle centre. We came back and I filled up the 2 smaller bags again to take home to fill our garden waste bin. Don't get me wrong, we worked hard and the lovely fresh red soil started appearing but we didn't clear the West End and didn't get to play with the sheeting. I promise you that it is just a coincidence that I don't appear in any of the photos working hard and the only shot is of me surveying my land...I did get stuck in I promise. There's always next weekend but I'll be working solo...or will I?!?!?!?!
