Over the past few months I’ve been keeping my eyes peeled for paving slabs to path as much of the site as possible. When we made the beds I wanted the central path to be paved in the middle for easy wheelbarrowing and the off shoot paths would be bark chippings. I now feel I have scavenged enough slabs to make it official.
Over the wet months the paths have become muddy and uneven from mud sliding. Time to even them out a bit and lay weed membrane. Simple, quick and easy; measure, lay it, staple edges to raised bed boards, repeat.
In the meantime, tomato seeds are doing well, as are aubergines, leeks, chillis and peppers.
