January is a funny month for an allotment holder. Keen to be getting on with the plot but not too much to be done. I'd read all my books cover to cover. I'd played with my online allotment plotter and moved plants around. I'd worked out what, when and where to plant everything and then I realised that in general I want everything done now! Well that's going to have to change. Patience and not Ellen is my new middle name.
That said, I did plant some tomato seeds at home in a cosy propagator. I'll grow on a couple of each variety each month to give me a rolling harvest.
I still visit the plot and with frosts nipping at my toes, I decided to cover my precious blueberry bushes and take a peak under the cloche at my onions which have grown. Oh and plant garlic in with the fruit bushes and plant a gooseberry bush that I swapped with Dean for onions. Like I said, not much to do.
